Andy_StewartA left-footed centre half forward/ruck rover with an immaculate kick who played more than 300 games of senior football over 17 years. Won the Grogan Medal in 1958 by eight votes after being runner-up in 1956 and was instrumental in Ray Hughson’s unsurpassed goal-kicking feats of the late 1950s and early ’60s. Such was Hughson’s appreciation that he once presented his long-time mate with one of his six Hughson Medals in special acknowledgment in the part he played.

Spent one year as captain-coach at Morningside in 1957 before returning to Wests to finish his career. Was a multiple B&F winner with the Bulldogs, including three in a row at one stage, and enjoyed a long and distinguished representative career for Queensland from 1953 through into the ‘60s.
