Every year NAB AFL Auskick is the introduction to AFL for almost 30,000 kids in Queensland, where they learn the skills of AFL in a fun and safe environment.
Over the last couple of years, we have focused on continuing to grow our club based Auskick programs, as this introduction in their community clubs is often the first step in the journey to playing club football.
In February this year we took the time to travel to all Queensland regions to present on the importance of club based Auskick to our junior clubs.
Through our research we found that well-run and well-resourced programs foster a greater love for the game and a lifelong involvement in our game.
Following on from these presentations, we launched the AFL Queensland NAB AFL Auskick Club Assistance Fund, which is aimed at helping junior clubs throughout Queensland to resource their Auskick program.
Successful clubs are provided with a HART Sports voucher that they can then use to purchase new equipment to make their Auskick program even bigger and better.
We have already had 40 clubs throughout Queensland receive the vouchers, and the applications are still open.
We urge all Auskick coordinators to contact your local Regional Manager if you haven’t already applied.
