NORTH
Caloundra vs. Maroochydore
Saturday June 18, 2:00pm, North St Oval
A good ol’ fashion top of the table clash on a Saturday afternoon
If we have learnt anything about the QFA North this year, it’s that anything can bloody well happen.
Maroochydore grinded out a win over Noosa, where they broke away late, while Caloundra couldn’t hold off a rampaging Mayne, going down by four-goals.
This is the game Caloundra have to win to really stamp their premiership credentials. If they get up, they are the real deal.
Sydney Swans premiership player Paul Bevan has been huge for Maroochydore the last two weeks. Someone has to try and nullify his influence.
Mitchell Fraser will be of massive importance for the Panthers. He wins a stack of it, and hits the scoreboard. If he has a day out. Caloundra win.
We could have two teams sitting on equal points at the top of the ladder tomorrow night.
SOUTH
Springwood vs. Yeronga South Brisbane
Saturday June 18, 2:00pm, Lowe Oval
Another competition, another top of the table clash.
To say these two teams had a day out last week would be the understatement of the year.
They recorded massive victories last week, so you can’t question their form coming in.
It’ll be a cracking brand of footy this week. Both teams play a positive style, with lots of scoring, and take the game on at every opportunity.
Glenn Boyd has been the spearhead for the Devils this year, with 32 goals to date, so look for him to impact the scoreboard.
Up the other end, Mark Thompson and Adrian Wallin have been the go to, combining for 47 for the year.
Whoever wins this will no doubt rein as premiership favorites in 2016.
