NORTH
Mayne vs. Noosa
Saturday July 2, 2:00pm, Mott Street Oval
The blockbusters just keep rolling in the QFA North, which is what happens with such an even competition.
It feels like a couple of weeks ago we were talking about how Mayne really need to get going… now they are four-points away from top spot.
These two teams are locked on six wins, four losses, along with Caloundra in fourth, so a win here is worth its weight in gold.
Last week, Mayne were too classy for Moreton Bay, while Noosa made a statement with a big win over Caloundra.
Adam Curry, who kicked eight last week, will once again be a focal point going forward for Noosa, but the key to his game will be in players like Hill and Moloney also playing well.
Luke Faulkner is back in town of late, and Craven is on top of his game. They will be vitally important to kicking a winning score.
Mayne could be back as the big dogs come Saturday night.
SOUTH
Bond University vs. Kenmore
Saturday July 2, 2:00pm, Bond University
You just know it’s going to be a good game when all that separates these two sides is percentage points.
A win for either one of these clubs could take them as high as second, so the carrot is being dangled.
Last week Bond had their best win in the QFA South to date, when they knocked off Yeronga away from home.
Season defining? Could be.
I’ve written it before, but I’ll write it again, Ben Merrett is a star, and someone has to dedicate their game to shutting him down up forward.
Kenmore comes into this one on the back of a solid win over Coomera.
Baldwin proved last week he can impact the scoreboard, and Reed won a stack, so look for them to keep going.
This should be a shootout.
