Springwood AFC’s Shane Murrihy will play his 200th Senior game for the club this Saturday.
Shane captained the club from 2004 to 2010 and was a member of their last Senior premiership side (in 2002).
An on-baller, Shane is known for being a hard-at-it, in-and-under footballer with great delivery on either side of his body.
Off field Shane has contributed enormously to the club said Springwood Senior Football Manager Adrian Wallin.
“Since 2007 Shane has held our club together through some seriously tough times when he could have easily moved on to the next level,” said Wallin.
“He is a great club man on and off the field and I have no doubt that the Springwood Footy Club still exists because of Shane and the Murrihy family.”
The four-time club Best and Fairest winner will become the first Springwood player to reach the magic 200 mark when he takes to the field this weekend.
