The highly anticipated 2022 AFL Wide Bay Marquis Macadamias Senior and Reserve Grade Men’s fixture has been released.
Bay Power and Hervey Bay Bombers will again represent the Fraser Coast region, with Brothers Bulldogs and Across the Waves Eagles flying the flag from Bundaberg. The Maryborough Bears will once again field a team in the reserves.
The reserves season will kick off on March 26th, with the seniors to commence the following week.
A round three grand final rematch in both seniors and reserves will be a major highlight, with the 2022 Grand Final to be played at Brothers Bulldogs on Saturday, September 3rd.
AFL Wide Bay Participation, Program and Competitions Lead said he was excited at the prospect of clubs being able to host full days of football, with the youth competitions to be played on Saturdays prior to the senior competitions.
“The feedback we received was that clubs wanted the opportunity to host women’s, men’s and youth grades on the same day to help create an inclusive environment,” he said.
To wrap up the season the Wide Bay Best and Fairest Stedman Medal will be held on Saturday 10th September, allowing all clubs to come together to celebrate individual achievements both on and off the field.
