Nominations to be part of the 2022 AFLQ Schools Cup are now open.
More than 12,000 participants in 608 teams competed in 2021, making the competition its biggest year yet! Will your school be part of the action in 2022?
Programs and Participation Manager – Schools and Diveristy, Damien Mitchelmore, said schools from the Northern Rivers to the Far North and everywhere in between were encouraged to get involved and nominate.
“Every year the draw is reviewed and changes are made to make sure that it continues to be the most accessible and progressive competition in school sport,” he said.
“Over the past six years, even amongst all the COVID interruptions, it continues to get bigger, and we expect this trend to continue in 2022.”
Next year will see over 60 divisional qualifying opportunities.
The best schools of North Queensland (NQ) will compete in the AFLQ Schools Cup – NQChampionships, which will return to Townsville thanks to the support of Townsville Enterprise Limited.
The AFLQ Schools Cup State Finals will occur from Friday 14th – Sunday 16th October, and once again Maroochydore Multisport Complex on the Sunshine Coast will play host.
In an exciting change, the Southeast Queensland Semi Finals will be played at Metricon Stadiumproviding a fantastic experience for all teams involved.
