With just over six weeks to go, the countdown is on to the start of the QFA Division 1 HART Sport Cup season with the 2024 fixture locked in.
HART Sport will return as the competition’s major sponsor for an eighth year, with the season commencing on Saturday, April 6.
With eight clubs vying for the flag, each team will play 16 games over the 18-week season.
Round Two will feature a thrilling Grand Final rematch, as Coorparoo hosts the reigning premiers, Springwood, at home, with the Pumas looking for back-to-back premierships.
Round Four will feature traditional rivalry games held to commemorate ANZAC Day, with Beenleigh playing Springwood, Caloundra facing UQ, and Mayne taking on Coorparoo.
Sir Doug Nicholls Round (SDNR), which acknowledges indigenous players and culture, will be celebrated across Round Six and Seven.
All teams will get a mid-season rest on June 22 to accommodate for the annual North Queensland and South Queensland representative clash.
Mitchell Simpson, AFL Queensland’s Competitions Manager anticipates an exciting season ahead.
“Last season, the race to play finals was hotly contested, and we had two teams miss out on finals by extremely small percentages – so this could be our closest year yet,” he said.
“I’d also like to acknowledge the ongoing support from HART Sport as they head into an eighth season as the QFA Division 1 naming rights partner.”
