2024 Queensland Girls Under 18 Squad Announced

The Queensland Girls Under 18 squad has been named to take part in the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championship – Under 18 Girls competition.  

The Championships will again feature six teams, including Queensland, South Australia, Victoria Country, Victoria Metro, Western Australia and the Allies, which will comprise players from New South Wales, ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania. 

Former Brisbane Lions Premiership Captain and current Brisbane Lions Academy Female Programs Coach Emma Zielke will take the reins as Head Coach with former Adelaide Crows AFLW premiership player and current Gold Coast SUNS Academy Female Programs Coach, Jess Sedunary as her Senior Assistant Coach.

The squad will see regions across Queensland represented, with players coming from Cairns, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and the Wide Bay region. 

AFL Queensland State Talent Manager Mark Browning said, “The Queensland Under 18 Girls squad is stacked with talent, who have been developed through our AFL Queensland pathways.”

“The junior and senior clubs, and AFL Academies have all played a part in developing these players and should be congratulated.”

Training will commence on June 5, with the Queenslanders taking on Victoria Country and the Allies at Brighton Homes Arena, and Western Australia in Perth, in July.
