The Bond University QAFLW will break for a competition bye this weekend as they assemble a QAFLW Select team to take on the Gold Coast SUNS AFLW side.
The match will take place at Bond University Oval on Saturday April 20, promising a thrilling display of talent and skill.
AFL Queensland’s Competitions Manager Mitchell Simpson said the game presents an opportunity for some of the QAFLW’s top players to test their ability against a professional AFLW outfit.
“It’s a great chance for these athletes to showcase their talent and test their ability against the next level,” he said.
“Over the last couple of seasons, the QAFLW has been a hotspot for emerging talent, with a significant number of players being drafted in the AFLW ranks.
“The match also serves as an opportunity for talent identification within the QAFLW competition, with coaches and recruiters identifying potential prospects who could make their mark at the elite level.”
