CRACK goalkicker Korey Fulton has found a new home for 2012 after signing with Surfers Paradise in the SEQAFL Division 1.

At 34 years of age and due to become a father for the third time in February, Fulton has dropped back a level to line up for his fourth local club since moving to the Gold Coast from South Warrnambool in 1999.

Fulton, who remains second on the QAFL’s all-time goalkicking list, settled on playing for the Demons after realising his time was up with Broadbeach in the NEAFL.

“I had thought about going back to Palm Beach-Currumbin (where he had played previously), but I think Surfers is a better fit for me,” he said.

The likelihood of being able to play in his preferred position at full forward helped to make up his mind.

“They said they wanted a full forward, so that was it as far as I’m concerned,” Fulton said.

Fulton’s journey on the Gold Coast has covered stints with Broadbeach (1999-2007); Labrador, then PBC in a turbulent 2008.

And then it was back to Broadbeach from 2009 to the end of the last season. Last season, Fulton brought up 200 seniors games with the Cats and he finished his campaign there with a total goals of 685, second only to Western Districts’ Owen Backwell (767) on the all-time state league kicking list.

The spearhead looks like being joined at Surfers by two former Cats teammates, brothers Aaron and Taylor Rolfe.
