After a delayed start to 2020 the AFL Capricornia Frenchville Sports Club Premiership season will return to a regular 15 Round Home and Away fixture which will launch into action headlined by the annual ANZAC Day Clash between the Rockhampton Panthers and the Brothers Kangaroos.
All Youth, Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s competitions will kick off on Saturday 24th April right across the Region, whilst the Panthers & Kangaroos Senior Men & Senior Women will meet in their traditional ANZAC Day Clash on Sunday 25th April.
The Yeppoon Swans will again enter the season as the bench mark of the Senior Competition and all other Clubs will have a tough challenge ahead of them to bring an end to their unprecedented run of 6 consecutive Premierships. Yeppoon faced off against the BITS Saints in both the Seniors and Reserves in the Men’s Competitions and the two Clubs will have to wait until Round 4 for the opportunity of the Grand Final replay.
The Senior Women’s competition again looks to be a very close affair with all Clubs showing signs in 2020 that they can match it with the best on their given day. Glenmore Bulls will have all other teams hot on their tails as defending Premiers, none more so than the Brothers Kangaroos who have played in the past two Grand Finals without tasting Premiership glory. These 2 sides will meet in Round 3 of the home and away season and both Clubs will be all too aware of the importance of wins early in the season.
Once again we will see Clubs break up the season with Friday Night fixtures as well as feature matches scattered throughout the year where Clubs will continue to promote recognition rounds as well as raising funds and awareness for various charity organisations.
2021 Season will wrap up with a revamped final series played in late August, concluding with Grand Final day on the 4th of September.
