For the first time, AFL Wheelchair – Social Play is coming to Queensland.
Commencing on May 1, the brand new AFL Wheelchair social program is available for ages 14 and over, and all abilities.
Held at the Sporting Wheelies complex in Milton, the sessions will give players the opportunity to play AFL Wheelchair socially. The game will be played on a smaller indoor court with three players per side.
AFL Queensland’s Participation and Programs Manager – Schools, Inclusion and Diversity Jeff Neumann said he’s excited to see the expansion of AFL Wheelchair.
“AFL Wheelchair – Social Play is a new development within our inclusion offering and we’re pleased to see AFL Wheelchair as the fastest growing para-sport in Queensland,” he said.
“We’re able to offer a pathway from social play, to the competitive league of five players per side, to representative selection here in Queensland,” he said.
“There is a place for everyone in AFL Wheelchair – Social Play. The Come and Play sessions are perfect for anyone who is looking for a way to build their AFL Wheelchair skills without the pressure.”
