AFL Queensland is pleased to announce a new partnership with the world’s largest and most trusted removalist, Allied Pickfords. As a long-time supporter of community football, the name Allied Pickfords is synonymous with the Mackay and Darling Downs AFL football competitions and that relationship will now extend to Mt Isa, with the senior men’s competitions in each region being known as the Allied Pickfords Cup.
With a number of Allied Pickfords franchises, including Mackay, Toowoomba and Mt Isa, franchise owner Paul Fowles said partnering with regional football leagues was a great way to support community football, whilst promoting their brand and services.
“Football is a great vehicle for bringing communities together and we’ve been rapt to be able to support that in Mackay and Darling Downs for a long time now, and with a new branch In Mt Isa we identified an opportunity to help support football there as well”, Mr Fowles said.
AFL Queensland CEO, Dean Warren, said the partnership, which is locked in for the next three years, provides fantastic support for the three regional leagues.
“Paul and his team have been incredibly generous and supportive of football in the Mackay and Darling Downs regions for some time now, and with AFL Queensland now managing the majority of regional leagues, we are delighted to be able to partner with them to continue that support”, Mr Warren said.
“We have worked really hard over the last three years to provide increased support towards the health and growth of the game in Mt Isa, so with Allied Pickford’s coming on board we can now do that to an even greater extent.
“Allied Pickfords is a highly respected global brand and we will certainly be encouraging our football community to support them when needing moving services,” Mr Warren added.
