Former Brisbane Lions champion Jason Akermanis is coming home to Queensland for a special one-off footy appearance.
The triple premiership player and Brownlow medallist is donning the Bribie Island Bulldogs maroon and white for their clash with the top-of-the-table Maroochydore Roos on May 25th at the Bribie Island footy ground
Akermanis – who has moved to Albury to coach the North Albury Grasshoppers in the Ovens and Murray league – will take advantage of his team’s bye to visit Bribie Island.
He will take the Bulldogs for training on the Friday evening from 5.30 pm; play in Saturday’s match that kicks off at 2.30pm before speaking at a club function at the Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club.
Admission to the match is free and the club advises patrons to bring a deck chair or rug to enjoy the game and Bribie Island hospitality.
