Labrador grand final player and former AFL star Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt and his St Kilda sidekick Austinn Jones will represent the Australian Bolters against PNG Mosquitoes in the Kokoda Challenge game in Port Moresby on Saturday 12 March.
Ex-rugby league and rugby union international Mat Rogers will also be at the game, with speculation as to whether he will become a ‘triple international’.
The enticing prospect for the Queenslanders who can lace on a boot is that two places remain on the playing roster of the Australian side for the exhibition game, which is a feature of Australia Week in PNG.
Former Swans superstar Adam Goodes will play as a guest for the Mosquitoes.
Champion Brisbane Lions full-back Mal Michael, who has done so much to promote the game of AFL in the country of his birth, will line up but with the Australian side.
The Mosquitoes are a serious team, having won the last International Cup in Australia and will start favourites for the next titles held in Melbourne later this year.
AFL PNG have factored in a tour program for all Australians participating in the Bolters side.
