Brisbane North’s best talent will come together for the region’s U16 Club Day this Sunday.
This year marks the first of the new ‘super’ region system, with the North region encompassing clubs part of the former West region as part of the Player Talent Pathway.
The day will also prove to be a trial run for the new Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex – AFL Precinct, at Burpengary, ahead of its official launch on March 8.
All of the region’s clubs are fielding an U16 team this season, and the day will give them a chance to test themselves against their opposition.
Brisbane North U16 coach, John Taylor will be keeping his eyes peeled for the best talent on the day, which doubles as the main selection for the region’s team, to compete at May’s State Championships, as the region vies for a third straight championship.
Ten teams will play in three pools on the day, which will showcase 200 of the region’s top young talents.
The Brisbane North Day is the first of a series of U16 Club days to be held around South-East Queensland, with the Brisbane South, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast club days being held in the coming weeks.
