Undefeated Lions take out Championship
The Cairns Lions have taken out the U16 Country Championships held in Rockhampton over the weekend.
The Lions went through the competition undefeated, recording victories over Townsville, Mackay, Crusaders and a close encounter with Capricornia.
The Crusaders finished runners up winning 3 of their four games.
The standard of the competition was the best that has been seen for many years with newly appointed Queensland Young Scorpions Coach John Rankin excited about the prospects for the Country Kookaburras at the State Championships in Brisbane starting on April 29th.
