With extreme rainfall expected to hit areas between Gympie and Lismore later this week, AFL Queensland has urged all clubs to ensure necessary precautions are taken to limit any possible water damage.
It is predicted that the rainfall, which may cause flooding, is likely to reach north of Brisbane Thursday, and south of Brisbane Friday.
AFL Queensland Facilities and Grants Coordinator, David Heilbron, recommended storing all football equipment and apparel as high up as possible, away from the low side of any storage area.
Items that are most likely to be destroyed by water damage such as footballs, equipment, and apparel should be prioritised.
“Even if you have to chuck it in the boot and take it home with you, do it,” Heilbron said.
