The Queensland All-Nations and Kickstart teams have starred at the 2016 Female Diversity Championships in Shepparton.
The Queensland All-Nations Team came from behind to defeat Victoria by 11 points in a thrilling decider to claim the Championship title. Queensland 5.3.33 def. Victoria 3.4.22.
The Queensland Kickstart team narrowly missed out on making it a state double, going down to powerhouse Western Australia by a mere 6 points in their Grand Final clash. Western Australia 2.5.17 def. Queensland 1.5.11.
This year the Female Diversity Championships encompassed the National U15 Kickstart and for the first year the National U15 All Nations Cup. The week long round-robin championships provide a pathway into our Woomeras and World Team programs.
The Championships, which took place in Shepparton, Victoria from September 25 to September 29, will see over 200 participants from Indigenous and Multicultural backgrounds come together and compete at the week-long tournament, with an additional 70 plus Indigenous and Multicultural coaches, umpires, managers, physios and trainers as support staff.
