Three girls from Zillmere Eagles will represent the state in the AFL under 18 You Girls Championships.
Members of the Zillmere Eagles will be glued to AFL websites this week as three of their club members compete in the AFL Under 18 Youth Girls National Championships.
Kristie Hudson, Ally Anderson and Tayla Harris were all selected in the Queensland under 18 Youth Girls to represent the state at the National championships from May 15 – 19.
The girls are building on proud Eagles tradition with the club having had representatives in all state under 18 and senior women’s teams for the past five years.
“We are so proud of these girls continuing on to rep level,” Zillmere women’s club president Roxanne Brock said.
“We’re really trying to build a long term development program here at Zillmere, so seeing these girls represent Queensland is just great.”
As youth girls participation grows across Queensland state selection is becoming more competitive each year.
The AFL Under 18 Youth Girls Championships kick-off tomorrow in Adelaide.
