Shane Junker

Product of Morwell in the Latrobe Valley who came to Coorparoo in 1966. A centre half forward/half forward with good hands and a strong body, his overhead marking was a important feature in Coorparoo’s 1968 premiership campaign and he’d played in losing grand final sides in 1969-70. Also won the B&F in ’66 and twice topped the club goal-kicking.

Represented Queensland seven times in an era when there was not an abundance of interstate games. Brother Denis, a former Footscray player, also wore Maroon seven times.
