After spending two weeks in South Africa last year for their pre-season build up, Hawthorn will return to Queensland this week for a 10-day training camp.
The Hawks last visited Queensland in 2012, when they tested their fitness under the sting of the Queensland sun.
Hawthorn will again treat their loyal Queensland supporters to an open-training session at the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex this Saturday.
AFL Sunshine Coast Regional Manager, Paul Tresise, said the opportunity to host the reigning AFL premiers was a huge coup for the region.
“Hawthorn are a first-class organisation and to have them up close and personal with supporters is invaluable for AFL’s growth on the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“Their visit is exciting for their passionate Queensland members and fans, who don’t often get the opportunity to see their club in the flesh.
“I would encourage all Hawks and AFL fans in the region to make the trip to the Multi Sports Complex on Saturday to see first-hand how a professional club trains.”
The open-training session will commence from 8am and will run for approximately two to three hours. Players will also be available to sign autographs at the conclusion of the training session.
The day is a fantastic opportunity for all supporters to meet their favourite Hawks stars and witness an elite AFL club in full flight.
Please note, training is subject to change at short notice.
