Brisbane Lions Academy Manager Luke Curran gives his thoughts on round 1 of the much anticipated NAB Academy Series and the Lion’s pre-season preparations so far.
The Brisbane Lions Academy side will face off against the Gold Coast Suns academy lineup, in what’s set to be an exciting display of Queensland talent at Southport on March 25th to start the series.
Jack Clayton and Connor Ballenden loom as players to watch so far, along with Jack Payne, Reid Gordon, Ben Sloan and Brock Aston also in good form leading into the big game.
The players have been training since early November in an effort to mimic an AFL pre-season and have already played in practice matches against QAFL teams Mt Gravatt and Sandgate.
The NAB Academy Series replaces division 2 of the National Championships and runs from March 25th through to May 6th.
