The Brisbane Lions may have the bye across this weekend, Round 13 of the AFL season, but the week off won’t stop Lions’ skipper Dayne doing his part around the grounds.
On Thursday, June 14, Zorko will travel to the Wide Bay region, for the 2018 Wide Bay Country Trip.
The two-day affair will see Zorko visit six schools in the region to encourage kids and bidding footballers in the area to get active and participate in Australian Rules football.
Gayndah State School and Biggenden School, both schools Zorko will visit on the trip, will both conduct NAB Auskick clinics at their respective schools throughout term three of the school year.

AFL Wide Bay will also run an AFLX style competition at Gayndah State School in Term 3 for Under-15 girls and Under-12 mixed age groups.
The two modified AFLX competition will run on Thursday afternoons from 4:00pm–5:30pm from July 26th – 6th September.
After flying up on Thursday morning, Zorko’s first stop on the tour is Binjour Platueau State School for a meet and greet with students at the school.
Zorko will then travel to Munduberra School, before heading to Gayndah State School for a kick and catch on the oval with locals.
The best opportunity for fans to meet Zorko and to get photos will be at Gayndah State School from 3:30-4:45pm, on Thursday 14 June.
Friday will see Zorko travel to St Joeseph’s Gayndah, Coalstoun Lake State School and Biggenden School. Where a media opportunity will be available from 1:30pm.
AFL Queensland CEO, Dean Warren, was optimistic about the trip and what it meant to the Wide Bay community.
“Dayne (Zorko) is a fantastic ambassador for our game, we are looking forward to giving our Wide Bay AFL community the opportunity to meet him this week,” Warren told aflq.com.au.
“Promoting junior participation by getting out to see kids in schools is important to us here at AFL Queensland.”
“We are pleased to be able to support our programs in Wide Bay through our dedicated full-time staff member Kyle Povah based in Hervey Bay.”
