A roar will be heard across Brisbane tonight when the entire Lions playing group converge on junior clubs as part of the Lions in YOUR Club program.
At each of the 21 clubs two Brisbane Lions players will help with training, meet club officials and volunteers, sign autographs and join juniors for photographs.
The Lions in YOUR Club program is a new initiative which is based around assisting junior clubs in the Lions Academy zone (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Darling Downs).
In addition to the club nights, the Lions in YOUR Club program provide juniors clubs with:
- Volunteer Reward and Recognition Awards – Each club has the opportunity to nominate a volunteer for recognition of outstanding work for their club. This award gives the volunteer nominated 4 tickets to a Lions game and a certificate of recognition.
- Fundraising Assistance – Brisbane Lions donated a fully signed Brisbane Lions Guernsey to every junior club at the start of the year to help raise funds
The night will also provide some down time for the Lions players ahead of the much anticipated QClash4 against the Gold Coast SUNS at Metricon Stadium this Saturday.
