Are you a recent past player and/or a person who has ambitions to grow and develop into coaching?
Do you have a passion for teaching the skills and game knowledge of AFL, and having a “hands on” role within a successful organisation?
WHAT we are seeking is a person who has ambition to be part of a QAFLW Senior program while coaching their own team; who will work closely with our Level 3 Senior Women’s Coach, Shane Dawes, and his coaching team. Shane will provide the successful applicant the support, experience and mentorship required to make the role enjoyable and fulfilling.
WHY? Having won the Div 1 Senior Women’s Premiership in 2023 and been promoted to the QAFLW State League competition for the 2025 season, Moreton Bay Lions are striving to improve further and continue their ongoing success. If you’re not growing, you’re going backwards. Part of the vision is to incorporate our U17 Girls into our Senior program, to help make a smoother transition from Youth to Senior football.
WE are looking for someone who has passion to teach, encourage and wants to collaborate to help our talented Youth girls reach their full potential. We want the successful candidate to have a “hands on” approach, running training drills each week, develop training plans in unison with the Senior team and having input into our game plan and structure.
Part of our Coaching group’s success is being adaptable and open to change to help our players get the best out of themselves. Our player’s development is our priority, which is why we have had enormous player retention & recruitment over the past three years.
OUR ambition is to be an improved and better team by season’s end and to help our Youth coaches transition into Senior coaches.
