Morningside Panthers 2025 QAFLW Coaching Team

Morningside are a foundation club of the QAFL operating for over 70 years and we have been actively building our female program in all age groups since 2018.

We now have the largest female participation in Australian Football clubs in Queensland with close to 300 girls and women playing. We also have a rapidly developing talent pipeline.

Our QFAW Div1 Seniors and Reserves teams have been regular finalists for several years and have a fantastic team and club culture. We have a talented playing list with experienced and exciting talented younger players but will be recruiting for season 2025 to secure the necessary additional experienced players to support our squad in developing and performing strongly at QAFLW level.

We are now seeking to recruit a Women’s Senior Football leadership group to complement our playing list and lead us in the 2025 QAFLW season. We have strong credentials in all of the six foundation pillars required for our QAFLW licence.

We have had a Women’s AFL Excellence Manager in position overseeing the development of our Morningside Excellence Program for the past 12 months. We also recently opened a game changing Sports and Wellbeing facility to complement major infrastructure works that have been completed in recent years at our playing facility at Jack Esplen oval in the Brisbane’s inner-city suburb of Hawthorne.

The club is calling for expressions of interest in all coaching roles at our Women’s Senior and Reserves level.

The key imperative that we seeking is securing people with high performance and culture standards and a passion for the development of the senior playing list. The senior coaches will ideally have previous experience at a high level, either as a player or coach.

Key attributes that you will have to fulfil Morningside Panthers Women’s QAFLW football leadership roles include:
• Strong knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of game day strategies.
• A strong passion for promoting women’s AFL and creating an inclusive and enjoyable environment.
• Ability to retain and attract players and support staff.
• AFL Coaching Accreditation to a suitable level (or plans to undertake accreditation). Full support with obtaining further AFL coaching accreditation will be provided.

Additional information:
• Remuneration is available for the Senior Women’s Head Coach based on experience and level of commitment.
• We are open to discussion on coaching roles being either playing or non-playing.
• We appreciate the need to balance family, work life and coaching commitments and are willing to land on suitable arrangements.

Please send all expressions of interest and applications to Janet Martin at seniors.football@panthersafc.com.au.

Applications close August 19, 2024.
