NEAFL field umpires Aaron Hall (left) & Andrew Stephens (right) will be trialling over the summer for a position on the 2013 AFL field umpires’ panel.
They will undertake the AFL fitness program and time trials over the summer, attend the AFL umpires’ camp in Geelong in late January and umpire in the 2013 NAB Cup.
AFL & NEAFL Umpire Manager, Cameron Nash congratulated the pair on the invitation to trial.
“Andrew and Aaron have both had successful 2012 NEAFL seasons and I am confident they will give themselves every opportunity to push their claims for an AFL spot.
“ I am also pleased to announce that Matthew Young has been nominated to participate in the 2013 AFL Umpire High Performance Academy, which is a joint program between the AFL and the AIS, which helps further develop up and coming field umpires,” Nash said.
There is no doubt they will do QLD umpiring proud over the coming months and into next season.
