The new Sherwood/Western Magpies change rooms at Chelmer were officially opened on the weekend by Alex Smith, oldest surviving Sherwood AFC Life Member and AFL Queensland CEO Michael Conlan.
Club officials said an enormous amount of hard work had gone into the realisation of the new rooms which have taken over two years to complete.
Current President Chris Dennis was instrumental in a successful application for a BCC Community Funds Grant and oversaw the building of the facility on behalf of the club board
Past-president Bruce McNicol was also instrumental in obtaining the Grant and helping with the oversight of the construction.
The opening was also attended by Cr Nicole Johnston, BCC member for Tennyson Ward.
