Morningside ace Paul Shelton returns to Brisbane this week but he won’t be rushed back into the Panthers line-up for the clash in Darwin.

Morningside will not rush matchwinning centreman Paul Shelton back into their side for the crucial showdown with the NT Thunder in Darwin on Saturday night.
Shelton, the State vice-captain and Zane Taylor Medal winner as best on ground for Queensland against Tasmania, flew to Europe the day after interstate contest.
He jets back in Brisbane later this week but there is no thought of him jumping back on a plane to Darwin.
“He gets back on Thursday night but we won’t be taking him,” confirmed Morningside coach John Blair.
The high possession winner is more likely to return in the top of the table clash against Southport the following weekend.
Irrespective of their form, the Panthers would almost certainly not have considered playing Shelton in the seniors anyway, although their quality win over the Lions and top form of their midfielders makes the decision easier.
A loss to the Thunder would end any hope Morningside has of stealing top spot from Southport, while the Thunder’s finals place will be under siege if they lose.
