Palm Beach Currumbin junior team is off to Sydney next month to compete for the Northern States Cup.

Palm Beach-Currumbin will head to Sydney next month to compete in the finals of the AFL Northern States Cup junior division.
The PBC team, from Years 8 & 9, will meet the corresponding winners from New South Wales and Northern Territory at Blacktown on 17-19 September.
They will be looking to repeat the effort of Queensland school of excellent sister school Helensvale, who won the Northern States Cup last year after Mater Dei Catholic College in Wagga won the inaugural NSC in 2008.
PBC won their trip to Sydney in epic fashion, beating Mountain Creek State School 7.11 (53) to 8.3 (51) in the regional final at the Gabba.
The game went into overtime, requiring each side to play five minutes extra each way, and PBC kicked the winning goal after the siren.
In other matches played recently on a gala day of school football finals at the Gabba, Regents Park State School beat Mt.Carmel College 5.8 (38) to 5.5 (35) to win the Carol Berry Cup.
And Yeronga State School beat Springwood Central State School 3-5 (23) to 3-1 (19) to win the Future Stars Cup.
Earlier at Coorparoo, Yeronga beat Chevallum State School 5.1 (31) to 4.3 (27) in the first semi-final of the Future Stars Cup and Springwood Central eliminated St.Andrews 5.5 (35) to 2.2 (14),
In the play-off for third place in the Future Stars Cup at Coorparoo, Chevallum beat St.Andrews 6.6 (42) to 2.2 (14).
