Morningside Panthers will be decked out in a special pink jumper for Sunday’s crunch game with Labrador at Esplen Oval.
It is all part of the sixth annual Pink Panther Ladies Day, put on to celebrate and acknowledge the involvement women play in the club and the local community.
Club Development Manager Jack Barry says it is the Panthers’ way of saying thank you to all the women who have contributed, be it as an official, volunteer, mother, sister, wife, or in any other capacity.
“It’s always been a terrific day and we are fortunate to get plenty of support from local businesses with vouchers and donations,” Barry said.
“We also look to raise funds for the club and make a donation to the Breast Cancer Council.”
This year more than 160 women will attend the pre-game function, and this year, thanks to major sponsors Divinity Skin & Body and The Allen family, the players will run out in the special pink strip modeled here by Josh Brown with Cara Giannangelo from Shugah Boutique.
The Morningside playing group sat through a DVD on Wednesday night and are fully behind the challenge and promotion for our club
