Junior clubs throughout Queensland will unite this weekend to promote the Positive or It’s Pointless campaign. Positive or it’s Pointless aims to ensure football is safe, fun and inclusive for children by reducing poor and unacceptable player, spectator and parent behavior.
Brisbane Lions player and Positive or it’s Pointless Ambassador Tom Rockliff said the program unites the football community and encourages juniors to love their football and have fun, win or lose.
“Playing sport is all about having fun, having a go, and enjoying a safe and fair game,” said Rockliff.“
On or off the field – if you’re a player, parent, spectator, official, coach or volunteer – with your positive support, respect and encouragement for others, we can all enjoy the fast-paced excitement of an AFL game”.
Clubs will promote the program with posters, flyers and giveaways while supporters can get behind the campaign by applauding the match day efforts of both teams and umpires.
Football clubs can also promote themselves over the weekend by taking a match day photo which embodies the ‘Positive or Its Pointless’ theme. The best stories will be featured on the AFL Queensland website.
Remember – Positive or it’s pointless – together we can make junior sport positive everyday!
