The Western Magpies are seeking a Colts Coach for season 2019 who will be integral in transitioning talented Magpie juniors and new recruits into the QAFL Senior football environment.
Founded in 1956, the Sherwood Football Club incorporating the Western Magpies have a strong football program and pedigree from Auskick through to Senior QAFL Football.
With a leading junior program, strong Magpie Senior sides over the years have largely consisted of local juniors though as the club progressed back to QAFL Football we have become the club of choice for players from the Western Suburbs all the way out to Darling Downs looking to test themselves at the highest level of community football.
The traditionally strong Colts program at the Magpies underlined by being R/up in 2017 and QAFL Colts Premiers in 2018 is seeking a new leader to mentor and teach players to be ready for senior football in 2019 and beyond.
The Colts Coach fills an integral role in this footy program, introducing young players to the rigors of Senior Football as they graduate from youth football. Managing players that are both part of various talent academies or in line for Senior QAFL Selection is an important part of the role.
With a strong club culture of positive family values, developing many outstanding young men and women over an extended period – many of whom remain involved in football and community programs – the Magpies are a leading community sporting organisation very protective of an inclusive and positive environment.
