The first official QAFL practice matches will kick off this weekend, led by a double header at Labrador.
Last year’s Division One premiers, Palm Beach, take on Broadbeach at Cooke-Murphy Oval as the first of the back-to-back games, followed by Labrador vs. Surfers Paradise, at 2pm.
Back in Brisbane, Wilston Grange hosts the University of Queensland at Sunlinc Oval, with seniors starting at 2pm.
Over at Lemke Rd, Sandgate gets a test to kick off its formal practice match schedule, playing Morningside.
Sunday sees Mt Gravatt take on the Western Magpies at Moorooka’s Alexander Park.
This weekend is the first time that QAFL teams will play each other, with only Wilston Grange and UQ having met in the last year.
Senior matches will consist of 25 minute quarters, with a maximum of 30 players, while reserves will play 20 minute quarters with an unlimited list.
