North
Caloundra vs. Noosa
Saturday August 6, 2:00pm, North St Oval
Now that the top four are locked away, we have the luxury of getting a finals preview for the last two weeks.
While both these clubs know they are playing finals, the order is well from locked away.
Just one win separate these two on the ladder. If Noosa win, their better percentage lifts them to third. If Caloundra win, they can’t drop any lower than third, and Noosa are destined for fourth.
The Panthers are coming into form at the right time of year. Rudolph looks unstoppable when up and about, and Ross keeps kicking bags.
For Noosa, they are out to snap a two-game losing streak, and to do, they need to kick 100 points.
Every time they have reached the century, they have won this year. Pretty simple stuff.
SOUTH
Coorparoo vs. Kenmore
Saturday August 6, 2:00pm, Giffin Park
The team with the most to play for this week is definitely Kenmore.
While Coorparoo can lock up top spot if results fall their way, Kenmore are playing to stay alive.
If they lose, they can fall out of the five, and be at risk of missing finals footy.
There isn’t much of a bigger task than the Kings at Giffen Park though.
For the Bears to get up, you’d think De Winter needs to kick a bag. They also need to restrict how quickly Coorparoo play. They can’t let it turn into a gun slinging competition, they simply won’t keep up.
Slowing them down is their best shot.
Coorparoo will look to open it up, and make it frantic.
Mitch Enright had a day out last week, and if it stays dry, keep an eye on him.
If he is lively, and Cant can find his radar from 50, they will be hard to stop.
