AFL Queensland today released the 2014 Queensland Football Association (QFA) North and South preliminary draws, marking the first season of the restructured competitions.
AFL Queensland today released the 2014 Queensland Football Association (QFA) North and South preliminary draws, marking the first season of the restructured competitions.
The QFA competitions sit underneath the new QAFL, the state’s premier community football league.
The season will commence on March 29, with the final home and away round to be played on August 9. The 2014 season will consist of 18 rounds.
The QFA competition consists of two conferences – North and South, with nine teams in each.
QFA North will include: Aspley, Kedron, Wynnum, Caboolture, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mayne, Nambour & Hinterland and Noosa.
The QFA South will include nine clubs: Alexandra Hills, Burleigh, Robina, Coolangatta-Tweed, Coomera, Springwood, Kenmore, Coorparoo and Yeronga-South Brisbane.
Each team will play two cross-conference matches over the home and away season, as well as playing each team in their own conference twice.
The respective conference premiers will face off in the Conference Final on September 13.
There will be one bye weekend, on July 26 and 27, as well as a break for Easter (April19-20) and the representative weekend (June 7-8).
