QFA Rd 2 Preview

The Queensland Football Association (QFA) heads into round two this week. Here is the preview for every game this weekend.

QFA NORTH

Maroochydore vs Aspley                                                                                

Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Marrochydore Multisports Complex

Maroochydore play their first home game after a win away against Caloundra by 24 points. Their Opponent Aspley will be looking to atone for a home loss to fierce rival Kedron by 31 points in their local derby.

Caboolture VS Nambour

Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Burpengary Sports Park

Caboolture host Nambour and Hinterland and both clubs will be searching for their first win of the season after a round 1 loss. Caboolture were mauled by the Mayne Tigers by 168 points and Nambour & Hinterland, who were in the game for 3 quarters, went down to Noosa by 27 points after a 5 goal to 2 final quarter.

Caloundra VS Mayne

Sat 5 Apr 2pm: North St Oval

Caloundra host Mayne in what could be a tough game for the Panthers. After a slow start in their loss to Maroochydore the previous week, they will be hoping to come out firing and hit the scoreboard early. Competition favourite Mayne, coming off a huge first round win after a solid 4 quarter performance, will be full of confidence.

Noosa v Kedron

Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Weyba Road

Noosa host Kedron which is the only clash of the round with two undefeated teams. Kedron were strong against local rival Aspley and controlled the match from the outset. Noosa, with its sights set on a big season to re-establish its powerhouse reputation, had a solid win after a dominant final quarter against Nambour & Hinterland.


QFA SOUTH

Alexandra Hills VS Yeronga
Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Keith Surridge Oval

Alexandra Hills will be searching for a much better showing when they face Yeronga who are fresh up after their round 1 bye. Alexandra Hills, who were decimated at home to Burleigh by 95 points, travel for their first away game for the season.

Coorparoo VS Robina
Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Giffin Park

Coorparoo face Robina at home after a surprising 28 point away loss in round 1. The Kings, who have won 3 premierships in a row, got off to a slow start in round 1 against Kenmore and were chasing for most of the game. They receive no favours in round 2 when they face a rampant Roos who are coming off a dominant 114 point win against Coolangatta-Tweed.

Coomera VS Coolangatta
Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Coomera Sports Park

Coomera take on Coolangatta at home and both clubs are after their first win after heavy round 1 losses. Coomera received a baptism of fire in their first match since moving up to the division, when dispatched by 115 points against 2013 grand finalist Springwood. The Blues, who travel for a second week in a row, will be confident of bouncing back against the competition newcomers.

Kenmore VS Burleigh
Sat 5 Apr 2pm: Western Districts Oval

Kenmore and Burleigh clash after strong round 1 wins. Kenmore will be full of confidence after a strong 4 quarter performance against Coorparoo. Burleigh, coming off a round 1 win and their first win for over a year, will be strong competition for the Bears.
