North Queensland 1.2, 6.5, 8.9, 14.16 (100)

South Queensland 5.2, 7.6, 9.9, 9.11 (65)

It was Mark II of the Queensland derby, and North Queensland made it two from two. Kicking with the breeze, the Southerners jumped out of the blocks early, kicking seven of the first nine goals of the game. North Queensland needed a hero, and they found it in Matt Walsh. He came to the fore late in the second quarter, before booting seven goals for the game, to steer North Queensland home to a comfortable 35-point victory.

Queensland 2.0, 4.0, 5.2, 6.4 (40)

A star studded Vic Metro team were too strong for Queensland. The experienced head of Robbie Copeland opened the scoring for Queensland in the opening minutes of the game, but from there it was all the big V. They led at quarter time by 28-points, extending that margin at every change, before running out 84-point victors. Big Victorian forward Luke Williams finished with seven goals.

NEAFL DEFEATED TASMANIA STATE LEAGUE
NEAFL 3.1 6.3 7.6 11.11 (77)
TSL 4.3 6.6 7.8 8.9 (57)

This one was an arm wrestle for most of the game. Neither team could kick away in the first three quarters, with Tasmania holding just a two-point advantage at the final break. It set the game up for a grandstand finish. Early last quarter goals to Bennett, Grewar and Michael for the NEAFL gave them the breathing space they needed to ensure a 20-point victory when the final siren rang.

QUEENSLAND WOMEN 17.18 (120) DEFEATED TASMANIA WOMEN 0.1 (1)

From the opening bounce it was all Queensland. Tayla Harris was the star early, kicking four first quarter goals to give Queensland a 36-point lead at quarter time. Their dominance continued for the rest of the game, recording a huge win in their second encounter in as many years. Harris finished the game with eight goals.
