We caught up with state coach, Adrian Fletcher, ahead of the start of the Under-18 rep season.
The Queensland Under-18 side plays its first match this weekend, as part of a new look state schedule.
The match, against the Oakleigh Chargers , will be the first of six TAC Cup matches the side plays this year, along with its national championships matches against Tasmania, NSW/ACT and the Northern Territory.
AFL Queensland Academy and High Performance Coach, Adrian Fletcher, is taking the reins this season and said the program would focus on developing each individual on and off the field.
“We want the players to be well-rounded and to develop their football, but also to grow as people through this program,” he said.
“If they are happy and keeping a good balance in their lives, then that will translate into their football as well.”
