The Queensland State Academy preliminary U18 squad will take on the Redland’s NEAFL side at Victoria Point tomorrow.
The game will act as the final selection trail for the Queensland State Academy squad, before the final 30-man team to represent Queensland in the TAC Cup and NAB AFL Under-18 Championships is named on Monday.
Eight players will be rested for Saturday’s game, with an extended squad of 27 to play.
Queensland Academy and High Performance Coach, Adrian Fletcher, will be looking for a strong showing from the squad, in their last hit out before the final team announcement.
“We are playing against men so it’s going to be difficult, but what I want is intensity,” Fletcher said.
“I want second and third efforts, I want our key talls to be able to crash the packs, I want our smalls to be clean at ground level and I want our inside mids to be able to take a body around the stoppages and give us first use.”
