Queensland will be looking to improve on their third placing at the last national championships when the 2011 titles start in Adelaide on Tuesday.
Queensland has been a trailblazer in supporting the development and evolution of national football at the female level and will take a strong squad south for the big event.
Katie Brennan has been a standout at junior and senior rep level and will be one of the key players for Queensland, while Breanna Koenen was an All-Australian under 18 alongside Brennan last year.
Jade Pegelj has been a standout in the local competition for several years and has also been a strong contributor at representative level.
The strength of women’s football in the north of the State is reflected in 10 members of the squad coming from Cairns and Koenen from Magnetic Island off Townsville.
