Reserves Coach – Coolangatta Tweed AFC

Coolangatta Tweed Football Club was one of the original Clubs in the Gold Coast Football League from the early 1960’s and continues as a proud football club to this day.

Coolangatta Tweed AFL Club is currently a Division 2 QFA Affiliated Club with a lengthy history as a powerhouse Club on the Gold Coast, with Gold Coast Australian Football League premierships in 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1988 and 1989.

The Coolangatta Tweed AFL Club is a strong Club with teams in both sexes and a vibrant junior Club providing over 300 members as the next generation of players to the senior ranks.

Our Women’s Football Department has teams in the QWAFL and the development league as well as at least one women’s team in all four grades of junior women’s football and our first girl’s Grand final premiership this season with our Under 13 Girls at Metricon Stadium.

Our Men’s Football Department has both Senior and Reserve Grade teams, along with our newly created Colt’s Football team competed this season and the Club fields a team in every male age group from Auskick to under 16’s. As a Club, we have fielded teams in both Division 1 and Division 2 in both our under 16 and under 14 grades, meaning there are large numbers of Youth players who will be available for senior selection next few seasons.

After some hard times, our club is on the path back towards glory and have reached the Preliminary Final this season and has built a strong culture, based on our Club Motto, “One Club, One Jumper, One Team”.

The majority of our current playing list has been retained for the past two seasons and is already hungry to “go one better” in 2020.

Coolangatta Tweed Football Club are now seeking the services of a strong Reserve Grade Club Coach to assist the Club in taking that next step towards a QFA Division 2 Reserves Premiership and, in conjunction with the Senior playing Group, progression to QFA Division 1 Football within three years.

Our ideal candidate will have a good work ethic and the ability to take an existing Club to that next level. The Club would prefer a candidate who can work within a “whole of Club” organisation and is willing to:

(i) work with our Senior Grade Coach; and

(ii) Mentor our Colts players; and

(iii) Liaise with our Youth Coaches.

To assist the Senior Club Coach in building the Coolangatta Tweed Football Club into a local powerhouse within the Gold Coast Region.

A good knowledge of local (Gold Coast Region) Australian Rules Football is expected and the ability to actively retain the existing playing group and to recruit key positional players to bolster the team dynamic is a must. As part of any recruiting strategy, recruitment of current players who can be encouraged to return to play at Coolangatta Tweed Football Club and the ability to increase our past player supporters groups would be an advantage.
