Palm Beach Currumbin smooth mover Jason Burge has been named the round five Syd Guildford nominee for his effort against Sandgate on the weekend.
Burge has had a strong start to the season and this week he again showed his elite disposal by foot and ability to collect the footy all over the ground.
The former Port Melbourne Borough and Southport Shark decided to make the change from NEAFL to QAFL this year and has enjoyed the change of pace.
“That’s what it was all about for me, footy enjoyment, and the NEAFL is a great competition, it’s a great pathway for young players trying to get a start at a high level,” said Burge.
“(I’m) Probably a bit beyond being a mature age rookie now, myself, so it just got down to enjoying playing footy with my mates, but still playing at a very high level.”
Next week Palm Beach Currumbin will take on Wilston Grange in round six of the QAFL.
