Labrador Tigers key forward Bryce Retzlaff has been named the round six Syd Guildford nominee after a big day out against Sandgate.
Retzlaff capitalized on the Tigers’ midfield dominance, to kick eleven goals in an emphatic display.
The Labrador skipper was strong on the lead and made the most of his chances, with accurate set shot kicking and some impressive work at ground level.
“I was pretty much just the lucky guy at the end of the chain. All the boys up the field, we’ve been working a hell of a lot on our ball movement, trying to improve that and I think it sort of all came together on the weekend,” said Retzlaff.
The Tigers’ spearhead has been building into his season after a hamstring injury kept him out until round four.
“It took me a little bit, obviously after the hamstring, I was probably pretty rusty in my first game back,” said Retzlaff.
“It certainly took a little bit to get the feel of it back again, but my body’s starting to feel good again so, hopefully it’s a good next period of the year.”
This week Labrador have the bye, but will meet Wilston Grange in round eight of the QAFL.
