The South Burnett Saints might be the new kids on the block in the Darling Downs Football League, but its administration is already leading the way, reaching Bronze in the Swisse Quality Club Program.
The bronze accreditation makes South Burnett just the fifth club Darling Downs club to reach that level, an incredible achievement in such a short time.
Saints secretary, Gayle Randall, expressed the importance of the accreditation for the club and community.
“As a new club, it’s always a tough challenge and to get accredited in the program is a great start, it shows we are on the right track,” Randall said.
“We are a community orientated club, focused on our spectators and members and this shows them we are working in the right direction for the club’s future.”
Having been one of the first to reach bronze, Randall said the Saints had set their sights on becoming the first to make it to silver in the program.
“It is definitely a goal of ours. There are only 13 clubs with silver accreditation in Queensland and to be added to that list would show our organisation and dedication to improving the club,” Randall said.
It’s been a big year for the Saints in their inaugural season, registering two wins in their inaugural season, receiving Bronze level Quality Club accreditation and finishing 3rd in the 2013 Darling Downs club of the year race.
