The Queensland Scorpions today announced the 2013 State Under 18 Training Squad following the completion of the 2013 Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns Academy Summer Training Programs.
The Summer Training Academy program wound up on Sunday with the final Under 18 Academy Trial game played at Cooke –Murphy Oval Labrador.
All players listed below are required to attend an Orientation and Training Session on Monday 1 April commencing 5.00 pm sharp at AFL Queensland Administration and Training Centre, Cansdale Street Yeronga.
It is anticipated that the session will conclude approx. 7.30 pm.
All selected players must bring their normal training gear including runners, boots and towel.

It should also be noted that a select group of boys turning 17 in 2013 will be contacted by phone separately by State Talent Manager Bob Batty with the opportunity of training 1 night per week (Wednesdays) with the above State U 18 Scorpions Squad, commencing Wednesday 3 April.
AFL Queensland congratulates the boys selected in the 2013 squad and look forward to their continued development during the year. For the boys not selected, opportunities back at the NEAFL club level, which may include top up opportunities at Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns, awaits the players who reset their goals and work hard for the remainder of the season.
History has shown that players not selected in the initial State Scorpions training squad, have been given a later invitation based on good consistent form at NEAFL club level.
