SEQAFL U18 Shield grand final preview

Morningside Vs Mt Gravatt

Minor premiers Morningside will face off against challengers Mt Gravatt for the second time in three weeks in tomorrow’s SEQAFL Under 18 Shield grand final.

Both teams have been the benchmark of the competition for season 2012 and this game should be a cracker.

Morningside come into the Grand Final as slight favorites after accounting for Mt Gravatt in the Semi Final by 2 points, the Panthers well serviced by Hayden Bertoli-Simmonds, Ben Bisset and Matthew Serrurier.

Morningside would have enjoyed the week off knowing the vultures had a tough battle in the preliminary final against Aspley.

Mt Gravatt comes into the grand final off a solid win against Aspley.  The Vultures had a battle on their hands before wresting control and kicking away in the last quarter.

Jordan Roberts and Jayden Crawley’s were key weapons in last week’s victory; with power forward Leigh Stones kicking seven majors.

The match looks to be a toss of the coin with a battle of the captains potentially influencing the game’s outcome.

Tom Symmons – Buchanan is set to renew his tagging role on opposition captain and influential mid fielder Jordan Plumridge and will set the scene for the day.

This game is too close to call with the potential to have our first AFLQ drawn Grand Final for season 2012.

The Under 18 Shield Grand Final kicks off at 10:30am Saturday at Coorparoo as a curtain raiser to the Brisbane Lions Vs Southport NEAFL Qualifying Final.
