AFL Queensland for the first time will be hosting a 2024 SEQ Diversity Cup open to U14’s player that meet the Diversity eligibility criteria.
This new initiative is a pathway program implemented to help select the 2024 State Diversity Team to play in the September Academy Championships at Maroochydore later this year.
The SEQ Diversity Cup will be a SUNS vs Lions zone match with separate Male and Female games. Zones are based on the participant’s registered junior club. Participants will be given the opportunity to complete their registration under the SUNS or Lions Zone. For any questions regarding which zone your club falls under, please reach out to your club president and/or coaches in the first instance.
Participants will also have access to redeem tickets to watch the Gold Coast SUNS vs Brisbane Lions match at People First Stadium from 4:35pm. More details on this will be sent to registered participants closer to the event.
Participants are encouraged to register provided they are born in 2010 or 2011 only and meet at least one of the NGA Criteria outlined below:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- Player Born Overseas is Asia, Africa or a Pacific Islands country
- Player Born Overseas in a non-English speaking country
- At least one parent born Overseas in Asia, Africa or a Pacific Islanders country
- Both parents are born in a non-English speaking country
